Area players recognized on Courier-Journal All-State Football Teams

With the season just ending on Saturday, all-state teams are starting to roll in with the Courier-Journal announcing its team on Wednesday morning.

Several locals made the CJ All-State Football Teams with two earning first team accolades.

Owensboro’s Gavin Wimsatt (QB) and Daviess County’s Jon Nalley (OL) each earned First-Team nods while Apollo’s Logan Weedman (OL) grabbed a spot on the Second-Team. Owensboro’s Justin Millay (OL) and Apollo’s Parker Bates (OL) were named to the Third-Team.

Four offensive lineman from the area made either first, second or third team this season.

Owensboro’s Treyvon Tinsley (WR) and Austin Gough (LB), along with Owensboro Catholic’s Chris Boarman (LB), earned honorable mention.
