Former Owensboro Catholic standout John Augenstein made his professional debut Thursday at The American Express at the Jack Nicklaus Course in La Quinta, California.

Brandon Hagy leads the field at -8 while Byeong-Hun An is right behind him at -7.

Augenstein is eight shots back as he carded an even par 72. He’s currently in a logjam at even with several notable players. Brooks Koepka, Zach Johnson, Charles Howell III, Luke Donald and Russell Henley are all at even par.

Augenstein tees off at 1:10 p.m. PST for his second round as he tries to make the cut in his first PGA tournament as a professional.
