Ohio County 58, Daviess County 37

The Daviess County Panthers couldn’t use their momentum from Friday night’s win over Trinity as they fell to Ohio County Saturday on the road.

The Eagles cruised to the 58-37 victory as the Panthers are now 4-7 on the year.

Ohio County was 19-of-36 (52%) from the field while DC was 15-of-48 (31%) with just three 3-pointers in the game.

Cole Burch (12 points, 8 rebounds) and Camron Johnson (12 points, 8 rebounds) led the Panthers.

Daviess County is scheduled to play Whitesville Monday then they take on Butler County and Lyon County Saturday at the Owensboro Sportscenter in the Independence Bank Classic.

Owensboro 45, McLean County 40

After a close win over Warren Central Friday, the Owensboro Red Devils grabbed another narrow victory Saturday when they beat McLean County in Calhoun.

OHS used a big second half to grab the 45-40 win after they outscored McLean 27-19 in the final two quarters.

Red Devil senior Amari Robinson-Wales had 30 points Friday night and followed it up with 22 points Saturday against the Cougars.

Chris Glover also finished in double digits with 10 points.

Owensboro heads to South Spencer (Ind.) Wednesday.

Owensboro Catholic 59, Evansville Reitz 53

In their last game before next week’s All “A” Classic State Tournament in Richmond, Owensboro Catholic went across the border and took down Evansville Reitz.

The Aces edged Reitz 59-53 for their third-straight win as Catholic is now 11-3 on the year.

The Trio of Gray Weaver, Brian Griffith and Ji Webb led the Aces as the three have been leading Catholic all season.

Weaver finished with 18 points while Griffith dropped 17 points and Webb added 16 points to led all scorers.

Reitz had three players in double figures and were led by Gavin Schipport (12 points) and Owen Dease (12 points).

Catholic takes on St. Henry in the first round of the All “A” Classic State Tournament Wednesday in Richmond.

Webster County 72, Trinity 59

After narrowingly falling to Daviess County Friday night, the Trinity Raiders hit the road and looked to bounce back but Webster County had other plans in Dixon.

The Trojans took down Trinity 72-59 despite three Raiders finishing in double figures.

Landon Huff and Denver Dickens each finished with 15 points while Nate Hernandez added 12 points.

Webster County was led by Aaron Harmon and Destin Allen as each finished with 19 points to lead all scorers. Hunter McNaughton added 15 in the win for the Trojans.

Trinity is scheduled to take on DC monday and then Ohio County Thursday.

McLean County 58, Daviess County 38

McLean County’s Bailei Walker finished with a game-high 24 points to lead the Lady Cougars over Daviess County Saturday afternoon at DC.

Walker’s 13 points in the first half set the tone for McLean as they took down the Lady Panthers 58-38.

DC’s lone senior Brooklyn Daugherty finished with 10 points on Senior Night as sophomore Adylan Ayer also finished with 10 points.

DC coach John Kirkpatrick Daugherty has done a lot for the Lady Panther program during her career.

Katie Mewes and Madison Spurrier each added eight points in the loss.

DC is scheduled to host Butler County on Tuesday.

Marshall County 56, Owensboro Catholic 42

The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces dropped their second game in as many nights as they fell to No. 4 Marshall County on the road Saturday.

A trio of Lady Marshals led the way as MC took down Owensboro Catholic 56-42.

Hannah Langhi led the way for Marshall with 16 points with Jada Driver (11 points) and Layne Pea (10 points) also adding to the win.

Catholic was led in scoring by Kinsley Goetz and her 16 points as every point came in the final quarter of play.

Freshman Hailee Johnson added 13 points for the Aces.

The Lady Aces are scheduled take on Russell Saturday at Bullitt East in the Coin Flip Classic.

Owensboro 40, Warren Central 36

After losing four-straight games, the Owensboro Lady Devils have won back-to-back with their latest victory coming against Warren Central in Bowling Green.

The Lady Devils grabbed the 40-36 win over the Lady Dragons as they’re now 6-8 on the year.

Three OHS players finished in double figures as the Devils were led by Lyric Lawrence’s 14 points. Alyrica Hughes (12 points) and Lindsey Gibson (10 points) also added double-digit games as Saturday was Gibson’s first start this season.

Brooklyn Williams added 13 rebounds as she continued to be a force on the boards.

Owensboro is schedule to take on Muhlenberg County Tuesday.
