Madisonville-North Hopkins 53, Owensboro 47

Despite 15 points from Kenyata Carbon, Owensboro couldn’t keep up with the Maroons Monday as they fell to Madisonville-North Hopkins on the road.

Madisonville was outscored 17-9 in the final frame but the Maroons’ lead was big enough through three to grab the 53-47 win.

Carbon led the Red Devils in scoring as he was the only Owensboro player in double figures.

Amari Robinson-Wales added 9 points and Jeremiah Goodwin chipped in 8 points for the Red Devils.

Owensboro falls to 4-4 on the year and are off until Friday when they take on Evansville Central on the road.

Butler County 57, Trinity 53

The Trinity Raiders dropped their fourth-straight game Monday as they fell to Butler County on the road.

The Bears edged Trinity 57-53. The loss drops the Raiders to 5-10 on the year.

Trinity plays Wednesday at Apollo.

Owensboro Catholic 38, Henderson County 37

The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces snapped their three-game losing streak in a big way Monday when they took down 2nd Region power Henderson County at the Owensboro Sportscenter.

Catholic freshman Hailee Johnson hit a bucket with 8.0 left on the clock to give the Aces the win as they beat the Lady Colonels 38-37.

Johnson and Katie Riney each finished with eight points to lead Catholic.

Henderson County was led by Sadie Wurth’s 15 points.

The Lady Aces now take on Apollo tonight at the Sportscenter in a 9th District showdown.
