This is a story in a series on local high school athletes signing to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level.

Apollo Eagles standout Logan Weedman is taking his talents to the Ohio Valley Conference next season as Weedman will suit up for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles.

Weedman blocked for an offense that racked up more than 1,850 rushing yards in 2020.

How does it feel to finally know where you’re going to attend next year and to make it official?

It feels great to finally have some clarity because there is definitely some uncertainty when it comes to the recruiting process and I am thankful to have finally found where I belong.

Why did you choose the school you did?

I chose Tennessee Tech because the coaches there treated me like family and showed me constant attention and that they actually cared about me which I didn’t get from most colleges. I also chose Tech because I plan to be an engineer and it is a great school for engineering.

What stood out about the program and the coaches?

What stood out to me is that they have a new coaching staff who has come in and began to turn the program in the right direction. Also, it is only three hours away from home and I didn’t want to travel too far away.

What are you going to study?

Engineering, I don’t know for sure what type yet but I am thinking electrical.

What are you going to miss about your team and school?

I’m going to miss playing football with my family here at Apollo and I will miss all my friends that are going off to different colleges but I know I will make more in college and be a part of a new and bigger family.
