Head coach: Austin Clay
2019 record: 10-19 (Lost to Owensboro in first round of 9th District Tournament)

How does it feel to finally have your season starting soon?
I feel great for our kids getting an opportunity to play high school baseball again. Everyone is back in person at school and they have done a good job following all of the protocols to make sure that we are able to have a season this year.

What’s your outlook for your team this season?
I think we will have an athletic group. High school baseball-wise, many of these kids’ last games were at the freshman level. I expect there to be a lot of learning taking place early, especially on the mound. We have some talented arms that need game experience and mistakes to learn from.

Who are your top returners?
Garrett Small – C = solid bat and provides good leadership and defense.
Hunter Payne – P/2B = got a chance to pitch for us a little in 2019 and had moments of success.

Are there any newcomers that could make an impact this season?
Owen Payne is a 3B and will probably provide some innings for us on the mound this year as well.

What do you need to do to be successful this season?
We have some physical talent, but to be successful it will come down to how well we are able to that talent to game situations. Especially on the mound, it becomes a different animal when there are a few people in the stands and the games mean a little more. We just have a ton of kids that need experience.
