How does it feel to finally have your season starting soon?
We are excited to get the opportunity to play baseball this spring.
What’s your outlook for your team this season?
We have some great leaders that benefited from leadership in the past and they’ve done an excellent job bringing along the new players to this year’s roster. We have talent at some key positions this year and our team will only benefit from competition at many other positions. We have young players that are hungry to compete for playing time. It’s a long season and we, as coaches, look forward to seeing the development of the hard-working young players.
Who are your top returners (include year and position)?
Ethan Gibson – Sr – P/SS
Kindrick Williams – Jr – C/UT
Connor Hallmark – So – INF/P
Are there any newcomers that could make an impact this season?
We have so many spots to fill that we are going to have 6-7 newcomers that will make an impact. It’s a long season and I believe that competition will make us stronger.
What do you need to do to be successful this season?
Execute fundamentals well, specifically baserunning. One of our team philosophies is to take more bases than we give in a game. We want to make little to no mistakes, and take advantage of opportunities our opponents present to us on the bases.
