South Warren 56, Daviess County 39

The Daviess County Panthers dropped their second game in a row Monday when they fell to South Warren on the road.

The Spartans took down DC for the second time this season as they cruised to the 56-39 win.

The Panthers play Thursday at Owensboro Catholic.

Owensboro Catholic 50, Hancock County 41

With the game tied 33-33 after three, the Owensboro Catholic Aces offense found its rhythm as senior Brian Griffith scored 12 of his game-high 28 points in the frame to lead them to victory.

Griffith hit three 3-pointers and went 4-of-4 from the stripe in the fourth as it helped Catholic snap its skid in the 50-41 victory.

Griffith had multiple field goals in each quarter as he and Luke Scales (10 points) were the only Aces in double digits.

Darian Clay led the Hornets with 14 points while Kaleb Keown added 11 points.

Catholic plays Thursday at home against Daviess County.

Daviess County 51, Logan County 35

The Daviess County Lady Panthers bounced back after Saturday’s loss to Apollo as they went down and cruised by Logan County in Russellville.

DC controlled the Lady Cougars during 51-35 win with two Lady Panthers finishing in double digits.

Katie Mewes finished with a game-high 17 points while senior Brooklyn Daugherty added 14 points.

The Lady Panthers play tonight at home against Lyon County before they head to Owensboro Catholic Thursday.

Trinity 48, Caldwell County 42

The Trinity Lady Raiders grabbed their third win of the season Monday when they beat 2nd Region foe Caldwell County in Whitesville.

Cassidy Morris finished with a double-double to lead the Lady Raiders in the 48-42 win over the Tigers.

Morris had 22 points and 11 rebounds as coach Emily Hernandez said the rebounding numbers were much better than in recent games for the Lady Raiders.

Sophomore Josie Aull added 18 points in the win while Hadley Hatfield finished with 10 rebounds.

Trinity hosts Calloway County Wednesday morning.
