A few weeks removed from his record-breaking performance, King Combest bettered his time in the 60-meters en route to a state championship at the KTCCCA Middle School Indoor State Championships in Louisville.
The Burns Middle School 7th-grader was the only runner in his class in the race as he finished with a blistering 7.39 with the second-place finisher clocking a time of 7.81. The second through eighth-place finishers were all 8th graders.
