Owensboro Catholic competes in Greenwood Match Madness Tennis Tournament
The Owensboro Catholic tennis team went south Saturday as they competed in the Greenwood Match Madness Tennis Tournament, with the Lady Aces finishing runner-up.
The Catholic girls fell to McCracken County 4-1 but took down host Greenwood 4-1 and cruised by Casey County 5-0.
Against Greenwood, Ella Cason and Isabella Reisz grabbed singles wins by Sarah Kate Young/Aisha Merchant and Olivia Hayden/Merchant grabbed doubles wins.
Against Casey County, Carson, Ella Grace Buckner and Claire Augenstein all earned singles victories. Emmy Moore/Young and Merchant/Hayden grabbed doubles victories.
For the Aces, they went 1-2 on the day with their lone win coming against Springfield (Tenn.). Catholic fell to Corbin and Madisonville-North Hopkins but Davis Brocato and Brett Conder each went 3-0 on the day.
In their lone win against Springfield, Brocato/Conder and Tucker Ray/Matthew Hyland had doubles wins while Cooper Danzer grabbed Catholic’s lone singles win.
