Henderson County 8, Daviess County 5
Both teams scored twice in the first but it was the Henderson County Colonels that used it as a jumping off point in their 8-5 win over Daviess County Tuesday at DCHS.
The Panthers added runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings but it wasn’t enough to take down the 2nd Region foe.
Zach Head (2-4, 2 R), Layton Huskisson (2-4, RBI, R) and Garrett Small (1-3, 2 RBIs) led the Panthers at the plate in the loss.
Daviess County plays Friday at Forest Park (Ind.)
Owensboro Catholic 10, Owensboro 0 (5 innings)
Owensboro Catholic followed up their dominant All “A” Classic weekend with a 10-0 win over 9th District foe Owensboro on Tuesday night.
Catholic’s E Munsey threw a one-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks to grab the victory.
Jamison Wall (2-2, 2 RBI, 2 R) and John Michael Frey (3-3, 2 RBIs, 1) had big nights from the No. 8 and No. 9 spots respectively to lead the Aces. Hunter Small and Finley Munsey each added 2 RBIs in the win while all nine Catholic starters scored in the game.
Cayden Ray had the lone hit for OHS in the game.
Catholic plays Saturday on the road at Henderson County while the Red Devils play Monday at home against Heritage Hills (Ind.).
Butler County 9, Trinity 5
The Trinity Raiders fell to Butler County for the second time in as many nights when the Bears scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the last lead of the game.
Trinity scored the first five runs in the game as they led 5-0 heading to the bottom of the fourth before the Bears offense found its groove.
Landon Huff (1-4, RBI, R, 2B) and Nathan Hernandez (1-4, RBI, R) led the Raiders while Will Hernandez, Carter Crip and Gavin Howard also scored in the game.
Trinity plays Friday at home against Cannelton (Ind.)
