Central Hardin 11, Apollo 2
Apollo 12, John Hardin 0

The Apollo Eagles hit the field twice Tuesday at the Keaton Hall Wood Bat Memorial Tournament in Bardstown but AHS couldn’t find their offense as they fell to Central Hardin but they bounced back in a big way against John Hardin in the nightcap as they blanked the Bulldogs 12-0.

Apollo played Central Hardin in the afternoon and fell 11-2.

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the first but after that it was all Bruins.

Nick Judd (1-1, RBI, R) Maxwell Holder (1-3, 3B, RBI) and Tanner Klee (1-4, 2B) led the Eagles at the plate while Harrison Bowman also scored in the game.

Against John Hardin, the Eagles also took a 1-0 lead in the first but they never gave it up as they tacked on eight in the third and five in the fifth for the mercy-rule victory.

Three pitchers combined for the shutout as Bowman (WIN), Easton Blandford and Charles Schneider each excelled on the hill and combined for six strikeouts while allowing just one hit.

Klee (2-4, 2 RBIs, R) and Judd (2-3, RBI, 2 runs) each finished with multiple hits for the Eagles in the win. Dan St. Clair, Dayton Brown and Joshua Mayes each added two RBIs.

Apollo continues tournament play at 11:30 a.m. against Grayson County.

Daviess County 7, Hancock County 3

The Daviess County Panthers hit the road Tuesday and snapped a three-game losing streak as they took down Hancock County.

DC won the game 7-4 despite it being their second-lowest run total in a game this season.

The Panthers will try to make it two in a row Saturday at Madisonville-North Hopkins.
