Even though the season is just two weeks old, the Apollo Eagles are in the middle of their second four-game winning streak this season after the 9-2 eagles cruised by Hancock County 10-0 in five innings Friday afternoon.

Apollo put up four runs in the bottom of the fourth and led 9-0 after three before adding the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth to extend their current streak to four games.

Junior Tyler Payne dazzled on the mound as he threw all five innings and finished with six strikeouts while allowing just four hits in the game.

Payne also helped out at the plate as he went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

Max Holder (3-4, 3 RBIs, run) and Harrison Bowman(2-3, RBI 2 R) joined Payne with multiple hits in the victory.

Apollo has its longest break so far in the first few weeks of the season as the Eagles are off until Tuesday when they head to Muhlenberg County with a battle with the Mustangs.
