Apollo 5, Henderson County 3

It took a while for the offense to get going Tuesday for the Apollo Eagles but once it did, they were able to get a big win over 2nd Region foe Henderson County on the road.

Apollo trailed 2-0 heading to the sixth before they score three in the frame and added two more in the seventh to take the game 5-3.

Dan St. Clair picked up the win after he threw 2.1 IP while allowing just one earned run. Harrison Bowman grabbed the save after he pitched the final two outs.

Bowman also went 2-4 with an RBI while Josh Mayes (1-3, 2 R), Dayton Brown (2-2, R) and Cayden Crabtree (2-4, 4 RBIs) had big games from the back of the Eagles lineup.

Apollo plays at McLean County on Friday.

Daviess County 12, Owensboro 2

After the game was tied 2-2 after two, the Daviess County Panthers scored five runs in the third and added five more in the fifth to take down 9th District foe Owensboro 12-2 in five innings.

Lake Wilson got the win for the Panthers as he struck out six and allowed two earned runs in three hits in the game.

Decker Renfrow (2-4, RBI, 2 R), Garrett Small (2-3, R), Zach Head (2-3, 2 R) and Wilson (2-3, 4 RBIs, R) all had multiple hits in the game while Cason Troutman added two RBIs.

For the Red Devils, Connor Hallmark, Elijah Hampton and Blake Kimbrell had the only hits for the OHS while Kimbrell added an RBI.

Daviess County plays at home today against Breckinridge County while Owensboro plays Thursday at home against Hancock County.

Owensboro Catholic 15, Union County 0

Owensboro Catholic made short work of Union County Tuesday as they cruised by the Braves 15-0 in three innings in Morganfield.

Alex Castlen got the win after he struck out four and allowed two hits in three innings.

Luke Evans (2-2, 2 RBI, 2 R), Finley Munsey (2-3, 4 RBIs, 2 R) and John Michael Frey (2-2, 3 RBIs, R) all had multiple hits for the Aces while Braden Mundy blasted a home run.

Sam McFarland, E Munsey, Hunter Small and Jamison Wall each scored twice in the win.

Catholic plays Thursday at Louisville Holy Cross against Walton-Verona in the All “A” Classic Baseball State Championship.

Edmonson County 6, Trinity 2

Edmonson County held the Trinity Raiders to just two runs Tuesday so grab their second win in as many days over THS as the Wildcats took down Trinity 6-2.

Landon Huff was dealt the loss but he still struck out five and allowed three earned runs on seven hits.

Carter Crisp led the Raiders at the plate with his two hits and a run while Nolan Mills also scored for Trinity in the loss.

Trinity plays Friday at Ohio County.
