This is a story in a series on local high school athletes signing to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level.

Apollo’s Zoë Floyd is extending her hoops career as she’s taking her talents to Campbellsville-Harrodsburg next season where she’ll be a Pioneer.

Floyd averaged 8.7 ppg for the E-gals last season and pulled down 7.0 rpg as Apollo’s leading rebounder.

How does it feel to finally know where you’re going to attend next year and to make it official?

It’s very satisfying knowing all of my hard work I’ve put in the last seven or eight years is finally paying off. But I’m not done yet.

Why did you choose the school you did?

It was home to me, I feel I’ll fit in very well here and the coach made me feel like I belong there.

What stood out about the program and the coaches?

He was extremely persistent but very personable and took the time to get to know me and my mom and the most intricate parts of my game like he had studied me for a while.

What are you going to study?

I’m going to get my degree in Business Management.

What are you going to miss about your team and school?

I’m going to miss the faces of the people I’ve grown up with my whole life, the relationships with their families and how I know literally everyone I see. I love this place.
