Mother Nature struck again Sunday as the 3rd Region Softball Tournament semifinals was delayed until Monday with Daviess County and Owensboro Catholic getting a day off after big games on back-to-back days.

Daviess County will take on host Butler County at 5:30 p.m. with Owensboro Catholic and Hancock County hitting the field at 7:30 p.m.

Time: 5:30 p.m.

The two teams with the most wins in the 3rd Region this season will meet tonight for a spot in the 3rd Region Tournament final as Daviess County and Butler County have combined for 60 wins this year.

Daviess County advanced to Monday’s final after the Lady Panthers took down Meade County 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. Butler County beat Ohio County 7-3 to cement their spot in the final on their home field.

Greysee Whiteker (16-3) and Raylee Roby (13-3) have done all the pitching for the Lady Panthers as both played their part this postseason in getting DC to Monday.

Abby Newman leads the Lady Panthers with a .490 average while Jessie Daniels and Millie Roberts have each homered 11 times on the year and each have 44 RBIs this season.

For Butler County, Aliceson Hunt has thrown all but one inning in the circle for the Lady Bears as she’s thrown 213 IP this season with 151 strikeouts.

Carley Jones (.446 avg, 45 runs), Autumn Proctor (3 home runs, 46 RBIs) and Olivia Austin (56 hits, 44 runs) lead the Lady Bears at the plate this season.

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Owensboro Catholic and Hancock County met earlier this season in the 3rd Region All “A” Classic Tournament final with the Lady Aces grabbing the win but the Hornets will try to make sure Catholic doesn’t make it a repeat performance Monday at Butler County.

The Lady Aces used timely home runs to get a keep and then some insurance runs to beat Muhlenberg County 6-4 in their first-round game as Hancock County beat Trinity 8-1 in the opening rounds final matchup.

Catholic has three pitchers with at least five wins as Hadley Phelps leads the team with nine wins. Lexi Hatchett (7) and Brooke Hamilton (5) also have big wins in the circle for the Lady Aces this season.

At the plate, Bailey Hamilton leads the team with a .448 average but she also leads the team in home runs (8), hits (43) and runs (31). Hannah Carter leads the team with 33 RBIs.

Lily Roberts (12-5) and Hayley McFarling (8-4) lead the Lady Hornets in the circle as the duo has combined for 223 strikeouts this season.

Ella Staples lead Hancock in average (.425), hits (48), RBIs (40) and home runs (8) while Braley Roberts has scored 39 times for the Lady Hornets this season.
