Trinity and Butler County will face off in the 12th District Championship after differentiating postseason paths.
The Lady Raiders snuck into the championship by working out of a bases-loaded jam in extra innings after making a late comeback against Edmonson County.
Katherine Hibbitt was a key contributor, providing five RBIs thanks to a two-run double and a bases-clearing triple in the game.
Trinity capitalized on a plethora of errors against Edmonson County, so they’ll have to generate more offense against a Lady Bears team that had no errors against Grayson County.
Butley County came out on top 19-9 in their game with the Lady Cougars, capitalizing on four errors while putting on an offensive showcase in back-to-back innings.
Grayson County held an early 3-2 after the first inning, but a six-run second inning and a 10-run bottom of the third was more than enough for the Lady Bears to take control of the game.
Butley County had seven players register at least one RBI, while Olivia Austin (four RBI), Carley Jones (three RBI) and Aleace Hall (three RBI) led the way in run production.
Trinity and Butler County will look to carry their momentum to a 12th District Championship when the two face off at 5:30 p.m. in Whitesville.
