Local girls golf teams made their way to Ben Hawes Municipal Golf Course on Tuesday, looking to grab a win in nine holes.
Daviess County came away victorious as a team, shooting a 188 on the day with Holly Holton leading the way.
Holton shot a 41, tying Owensboro’s Alexa Samalah for the best individual score. Holton’s teammates showed up as well, with scores like a 46 from Addison Heady and a 49 from Kirsten Henderson easily separating them from the rest of the playing field overall.
Henderson grabbed second with an overall score of 218, while Owensboro Catholic earned third with a score of 227 and Owensboro finished in fourth with a score of 241.
Apollo competed on the day, but only had three golfers, thus not qualifying them as a team and individually. Macey Brown would’ve been the high scorer on the day, shooting a 37.
Other notable scores on the day came from Owensboro Catholic’s leader in Conleigh Osborne and Henderson’s leader in Maryl Grogan, with both shooting 50’s on the course.
