Shots on goal came at a premium in the Daviess County and Madisonville North-Hopkins boys soccer game, with it resulting in a 1-1 tie.

The Panthers set the tone in the first half, scoring in the eighth minute after Sean Higgs connected on a cross into the box to find the back of the net and take a 1-0 lead.

This lead stayed strong through the remainder of the first half, with the game remaining at a stalemate until the 65th minute.

Daviess County put up seven shots on goal, while Madisonville had six. Senior Cody Clark’s five saves for the Panthers and a combined 11 saves for Madisonville’s keepers kept both teams off the board, leaving the game tied at 1-1 after the final buzzer.

Daviess County now sits a 7-1-1 on the season and will have a day off before taking on Owensboro at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
