After years of strong performances amongst the best golfers the Commonwealth has to offer, Apollo’s Macey Brown is prepared to continue her athletic career at the University of Indianapolis.

Brown has had a strong career with the E-gals, winning a state championship while competing at state every year.

She set a precedent for success at Apollo, including her most recent 3rd place finish at state while playing alongside her teammates Claire Reynolds and Mary Ann Lyons and coach Jarrod Carter.

While she will miss her days as an E-gal, Brown is ready for the challenges she will face at the collegiate level.

“I’m gonna miss Claire and Mary and of course Jarrod, but I know the next chapter will be super exciting,” Brown said. “My school is super supportive of me and the people there will be very much missed.”

Brown was thrilled to officially commit to Indianapolis, looking forward to knowing what’s ahead after the recruiting class.

“It feels relieving because now I’m not stressed about where I’m going and verbally committing before this season took pressure off to get a school to look at me,” Brown said.

Brown said that their coaching staff made her feel like she was a part of the team before she committed and is excited about the relationships she can create within a competitive program.

“I chose UINDY because it felt like a family there,” Brown said. “Everything wasn’t just about sports it was about the relationships they built with their athletes.”

Brown wrapped her senior year in the fall with Apollo at state and is looking forward to her golfing career at Indianapolis, where she will also be studying psychology.
