Unable to halt Grace Christian Academy’s offense in the second half, Trinity (Whitesville) had its two-game winning streak snapped as they fell 73-64.
It was a back-and-forth affair in the first quarter, with both teams trading buckets en route to a 17-17 tie going into the second.
The Raiders set themselves up well going into halftime, limiting Grace Christian Academy to just six points in the second. Scoring 14, Trinity walked into the second half owning a 31-23 lead.
In the third quarter Trinity had a solid quarter offensively with 17 points, but Grace Christian exploded in the third for 26 points.
With the help of Dean Bechman’s three threes and 11 points in the third, the Raiders went into the fourth trailing 49-48.
A number of players got in on the action offensively in the fourth for Grace Christian, as they scored 26 points and limited Trinity to 16 to secure the 73-64 win.
Beechman led all scorers with 22 points, while Jordan Carter (17) and Jackson Sleeper (11) both finished in double figures.
Junior Nathan Hernandez led the Raiders with 16 points, while juniors Landon Huff and Landon Smith both finished with 11 points each.
Falling to 2-4, Trinity has a quick turnaround as they are competing in the Louisville Christmas Classic on Saturday.
