Daviess County boys and girls tennis were in full command on Wednesday, as they defeated Owensboro tennis 7-2 and 5-4 respectively.
The Panthers won the boys singles flight 4-2, led by Sam Smith and Anthony Thomson’s 8-0 wins. Matthew Dunlay and Landon McDuffee followed with 8-2 wins to round out the singles matches.
Owensboro struggled in doubles as well, as the duos of Andy Peeples/Smith (6-3, 6-3), McDuffee/Frank Newton (8-6) and David Abel/Parth Haria completed the sweep for Daviess County.
The girls singles flight was split evenly at 3-3, with Anastasia Kolomiyets (8-4), Maddy Brown (8-2) and Allessa Hall (7-5) that got wins for the Lady Panthers.
It was doubles where Daviess County would take the cake, as the duos of Kolomiyets/Morgan Lucas (9-7) and Charly Hayden/Hall (6-1, 6-2) grabbed two sets to secure the 5-4 win over the Lady Devils.
