Getting held hitless by junior Brooke Gray, the Lady Devils lost 10-0 to Ballard in its third game of the Softball Beach Bash on Tuesday.

After a scoreless first inning, the Bruins were able to grab a 1-0 lead in the top of the second thanks to a passed ball that allowed junior Imari Golden to score. The following inning an RBI double from junior Macy McCoy and a two-run homer from senior Alyssa Simmons gave Ballard a 4-0 lead going into the third.

While the Lady Devils struggled to find a way to get hits, the Bruins continued to string together runs. Getting three each in the fourth and fifth, Ballard grew its lead to double digits and closed out a 10-0 win in five innings.

Freshman Kirsten Tindle struggled on the mound on Tuesday, allowing 10 runs—five of them being earned runs—on 10 hits and two walks. Meanwhile, Gray had Owensboro bamboozled, allowing no hits, no walks and striking out 11.

The Lady Devils have now lost four straight and have a day off before returning to action, as they will take on Middlesboro at 11 a.m. on Thursday.
