Lady Aces tennis wins Mater Dei Tournament

Amongst a strong field, Owensboro Catholic girls tennis claimed first place in the Mater Dei Tournament last weekend. The tournament was composed of four teams, including Mater Dei, Evansville North and Evansville Christian School.

Ella Cason led the way for the Lady Aces, sweeping the No. 1 singles matches against Evansville North and Evansville Christian. Ella Grace Buckman split the No. 2 singles matches against Evansville Christian (loss) and Mater Dei (win), while Isabell Reisz followed with a sweep of the No. 3 singles matches.

Owensboro Catholic had a strong day in doubles as well, as Olivia Hayden and Aisha Merchant won the No. 1 doubles flight by beating Mater Dei and Evansville North..  

Katelyn Mitchell and Claire Augenstein won the No. 2 doubles flight by beating Evansville Christian and Mater Dei, while Elizabeth Hayden and Julia Marshall rounded out the day by sweeping the No. 3 doubles flight by beating Mater Dei twice.
