Owensboro vs. Apollo
The Lady Devils got the best of Apollo on Tuesday (5-4), while it was Owensboro boys tennis who got the win over the Eagles (5-4).
Owensboro girls split its singles matches 3-3 with the E-gals, with Alexa Salamah taking charge with an 8-0 win. It was the combo of Salamah/Caroline Smith (6-1, 7-6, 7-0) and Emma Embry/Riley Hunt (6-2, 6-1) who got the doubles wins that pushed Apollo over the top.
Owensboro boys won its singles matches 4-2 over Apollo—led by Dylan Mather who won his matches 6-0, 6-0—but were swept in doubles to take the loss. It was the duos of Steson Osborne/Evan Wilson (6-3, 6-1), Luke Austin and Ben Austin (6-2, 6-1) and Jamison Franey/Maddox Tucker (8-4) who grabbed doubles wins for the Eagles.
Owensboro Catholic vs. Meade County
Owensboro Catholic boys and girls tennis swept Meade County on Tuesday, grabbing 5-0 and 4-1 wins respectively.
Matthew Hyland (6-0, 7-5) and Patrick Hauke (6-0, 6-0) gave the Aces their pair of singles wins on the day, while the duos of Cooper Danzer/Houston Danzer (2-6, 6-3, 1-0) and Brett Conder/Tucker Ray (7-5, 6-4) earned doubles wins to round out the day.
Ella Cason (6-0, 6-3), Ella Grace Buckman (6-3, 6-3) and Isabella Reisz (6-0, 6-0) all earned singles wins for the Lady Devils, while Aisha Merchant/Olivia Haydery (6-1, 6-0) and Claire Augenstein/Katelyn Mitchell (6-1, 6-0) earned doubles wins to complete the sweep.
