Owensboro vs. Meade County
Owensboro tennis split its matches against Meade County on Friday, as the boys won 3-2 while the Lady Devils fell at a score of 3-2.
Dylan Mather and Andrew Diebel led the way in singles matches, winning 6-2, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-3, respectively. The Red Devils didn’t have the same luck in doubles, losing two matches while the duo of Ryan Sovar/Dustin Payne won 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.
Meanwhile, the Lady Devils lost both singles matches, while the duos of Whitley Ford/Caroline Smith (6-1, 6-3) and Annie Iracane/Izzy Tipmore (7-5, 6-2) grabbed two doubles wins.
Apollo vs. Muhlenberg County
The E-gals tennis team battled its way to a narrow win over Muhlenberg County, claiming the victory at a score of 5-4 on Friday.
Ella Hayden and Emmie Kate Williams led the way in singles with 8-0 wins, while Sophey Jennings (8-2) and Emma Parker (8-3) also earned wins.
Apollo didn’t fare as well in doubles, as they only got one win in three matches. The E-gals were able to secure the win with the final doubles win, as Hayden/Kate Williams won 8-2 to round out the day.
