Snapping a four-game losing streak, the Raiders got offense in bunches to defeat Hopkins County Central 12-4 on Friday.

Trinity (Whitesville) wasted no time setting the tone for the game, getting an RBI single from junior Nolan Mills and an RBI groundout from freshman Hayden Aull to go up 2-0 after the first.

Freshman Will Hernandez kept things going with a leadoff single in the second, as freshman Carter Crisp followed with a triple and then scored himself on a throwing error to take a 4-0 lead. The Raiders lead grew by two more to close out the inning, scoring on a dropped third strike and a passed ball.

Trinity kept putting up crooked numbers by getting two more in the third, getting a two-run inside-the-park home run from senior Elijah Boarman to take an 8-0 lead into the fourth.

Hopkins County Central proceeded to break through for four runs in the top of the sixth, but it was too little too late as the Raiders scored one in the fifth and three in the sixth to round out the 12-4 victory.

Junior Nathan Hernandez led the way on the mound, tossing five innings of shutout ball where he allowed one hit, walked one and struck out three.

Offensively Mills, Boarman, and Crisp led the way with a pair of RBIs each, while Aull and senior Mason Mattingly each had one on the day.

Trinity improves to 4-14 overall with the win, as they will look to stay strong when they host Evansville Christian at 6 p.m. on Monday.
