Coming off of a strong senior season for Owensboro Catholic baseball, Alex Castlen will be taking his talents to the next level as he has committed to Olney Central Community College.

Castlen is thrilled to have the recruiting process behind him, saying that he will be right at home playing at the next level for a good program.

“It was a good fit for me and they have a great coaching staff,” Castlen said. “They have a history of winning and coach Conley develops great players.”

Castlen did it all for the Aces in his senior season, being a solid contributor in the field and at the plate with a .292 batting average, one home run and 25 RBIs. But it was on the bump where he really shined, toting a 4-1 record with a 1.58 ERA, while striking out 37 batters in 35.1 innings pitched on the season.

Castlen said he is ready to take the next step in his career athletically and in the classroom, focusing on general studies when he arrives on campus.

The Owensboro Catholic graduate said that he will miss the many memories he and his teammates shared over the years, but is looking forward to this new journey into collegiate baseball.
