For the fifth time in as many years, the Kentucky Wesleyan College men’s golf team has been recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for their academic achievements. The Panthers are one of the elite programs in Division II to be awarded the GCAA’s Outstanding Team Academic Award, as announced by the Association Office on Monday.
Wesleyan held a team GPA of 3.14 this season to make the annual list. Only 33 additional schools in NCAA Division II qualified for this season’s award. Newberry held the highest team GPA in Division II and the nation this season with a 3.81. The Panthers are one of six Great Midwest Athletic Conference schools to make the season-ending list with Tiffin and Findlay each holding a team GPA over 3.5.
Harvard (NCAA Division I), Newberry (NCAA Division II), Carleton (NCAA Division III), Wayland Baptist (NAIA), Andrew (NJCAA Division I), and Abraham Baldwin (NJCAA Division II) were all named 2021-22 Academic National Champions for finishing with the top GPA in their respective divisions, announced today by the GCAA.
