Looking to complete his already impressive 2022-23 signing class, head basketball coach Drew Cooper has added three more players to his roster for next season. Alex Gray, Fares Remouche and Brady Dame all come in with a lot of accolades and will be ready to make an impact right away for the Panthers.

Alex Gray is a local product, graduating from Apollo in 2018. Last season he led NAIA Friends University in 3FG% and RPG, was 2nd in APG and averaged 11 PPG. Gray is all over the court on defense, and his ability to take charges will be extremely valuable for coach Cooper next season. Gray arrives with at least two years of eligibility.

“Growing up in Owensboro, it has always been a dream of mine to play for Kentucky Wesleyan,” said Gray. “I now have a great opportunity to be back home with friends and family. I’m beyond excited for this new chapter and am looking forward to a great few years here.”

Fares Remouche comes to Owensboro by way of Triton College and Truman College, where he competed at the NJCAA Division 1 level. Remouche, who is originally from Algeria, is a 6’10” big man who plays with a lot of physicality and passion. He will made a big impact on with his rebounding and impressive defense. Remouche arrives with three years of eligibility remaining.

“I chose Kentucky Wesleyan due to their strong athletic and academic tradition” said Remouche. “Getting an opportunity to play for the most historic program in NCAA DII is a blessing for me as an individual that loves to win. Academically, KWC offers more in terms of majors than any school I’ve been to. The small school environment with the personal attention really caught my eye. I’m excited to help bring this program back to where it belongs.”

Brady Dame is another local product, coming to Wesleyan by way of McLean County High School. Dame is familiar with the Sportscenter, as he had 19 points and 7 rebounds in a game there last season. The 6’4″ bruiser was a member of McLean County’s 1000 point club, and ranks second in school history in career rebounds.

“This is a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to a great experience for me and my family” states Dame.

“It was important to make sure we had a team full of players that appreciated being at Kentucky Wesleyan,” said coach Drew Cooper. “If your players don’t appreciate the opportunity just to compete at this level, it’s infectious in a bad way. Alex and Fares took non-traditional ways to get here, but I know they’re thrilled to have the opportunity and will make the most out of it. Brady was a great interior high school player and we’re thrilled he will be joining us next year.”
