With its entire roster from 2021 returning this season, Owensboro Catholic girls golf is looking to turn that experience into success on the links this year.

Conleigh Osborne, RC Porter, Lanie Ann Osborne, Addie-Belle Rutman and Olivia McPherson all come back for the Lady Aces, who were key players in winning All-A last season. Porter placed first with a 44 in the tournament last season, while Osborne followed close behind in third (47) to help Owensboro Catholic shoot a 206 as a team.

Porter also had a strong summer, competing in the GO Junior Golf Series and becoming the First Flight Winner of the Girls 16-18 age division.

They will be joined by Chloe Calitri and Hannah Robbins, who played for several years. Head Coach Stacey Johnson said that they have put in a lot of time and effort outside of matches, noting that they have earned their chance to compete at the varsity level.

Johnson has been making sure to emphasize the importance of time on the course outside of matches, while noting that it will only help improve their game and lead to success in 2022.

“We are just looking for more consistency this year,” Johnson said. “I would like to see all five players breaking 100 and at least two players breaking 90 this year. Practice, practice, practice [will be key]. If they put in the time, they will see incredible results on the course.”
