The E-gals volleyball team bounced back from a district loss on Thursday, sweeping Hopkinsville 3-0 on the road (25-21, 25-14, 25-14).
Freshman Elise Wilson led the way in kills with seven, while sophomore Abbie Butterworth followed close behind with six and junior Jenna Dant added three. Apollo also got a barrage of Aces in the game, with sophomore McKenna Mason and junior Ella Alvey getting four, Butterworth adding three, junior Ahalia Ramirez added two and junior Kelsey Dickinson added one.
Ramirez (17) and Mason (7) combined for all 24 of the team’s assists, while junior Kaley Dickinson and Alvey recorded five and four digs respectively to lead the E-gals defense. Apollo improves to 7-7 overall with the win, taking a few days off before returning home for a district matchup with Owensboro Catholic at 7:30 p.m.
