The Lady Panthers volleyball team split their doubleheader on Saturday, sweeping Greenwood before being swept by Elizabethtown.
Daviess County swept Greenwood 27-25, 25-22, 25-18, while falling to Elizabethtown 25-20, 25-15, 25-23. Senior Josiew Newcom led the way offensively with 23 kills on the day, while senior Lexi Owen tallied 30 assists between the two games.
Defensively no player was able to crack double figures in blocks or digs in the two matches for the Lady Panthers. Daviess County now sits at 9-6 overall after the split, now turning its attention to a home game with Trinity (Whitesville) on Monday.
