Girls soccer recap (Sept. 10): DCHS, AHS

The Lady Panthers and E-gals soccer teams were on fire offensively on Saturday, grabbing wins in their respective matches to close out the week.

Daviess County vs. Madisonville-North Hopkins

Daviess County was able to grab its second straight win on Saturday, outscoring Madisonville-North Hopkins 3-2 on the road.

The Lady Panthers rattled off 17 shots on the night, with senior Riley Seaton making eight saves in the contest for the Lady Maroons. Freshman Bailey Brown was able to get a pair of goals past Seaton on the day, while senior Reagan Chinn got the third goal in the 3-2 win.

Daviess County advances to 9-4 overall with the win, as they will take a few days off before closing out regular season district play against Apollo at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Apollo vs. Warren Central

Apollo snapped its three-game losing streak on Saturday, getting a clean sheet against Warren Central with a 4-0 win.

The E-gals got off 13 shots with six of them on goal in the game, with sophomore Kara Green getting a pair of unassisted goals. Junior Alana Rone scored on an assist by junior Ella Hayden, while freshman Dalleigh Sullivan scored on an assist from senior Kaylee Hall.

Junior Ashton Leigh made six saves in 70 minutes of play, helping Apollo complete the 4-0 shutout victory. The E-gals advance to 3-8 overall on the season with the win, as they will now turn their attention to a district matchup with Daviess County at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
