Owensboro Catholic wasn’t able to seal the deal after forcing a fifth set against Ohio County, falling to them on the road 3-2 (30-28, 19-25, 25-10, 19-25, 16-14).
The Lady Aces had a quarter of players combined for a whopping 115 digs on Thursday, with senior Emily Christian (40) and junior Karsen Tipmore (35) combining for 75 of them. Junior Blair Riney tallied 25, while junior Isabelle Reisz added 15.
Offensively it was senior Abigail Williams that led the way with 21 kills, while senior Abby Baughman added 11 and sophomore Olivia Castlen added eight. Owensboro Catholic falls to 2-4 overall with the loss, as they will take a few days off to prepare for a tough matchup with Trinity (Whitesville) on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
