Daviess County bounced back from its first loss of the season on Thursday, besting the Aces 3-1 to remain undefeated in district play.

The Panthers were the first to get on the board in the 11th minute, as senior Nate Dailey scored unassisted from just outside the box. Daviess County got one more just before halftime, with senior Tyler Wilkerson scoring on an assist from junior Sam Glover to take a 2-0 lead.

Owensboro Catholic was able to put some pressure on the Panthers in the second half, as junior Brody Martin was able to find the back of the net. This was one of two shots on the day for the Aces serving as the only one on target to make it a 2-1 match.

However, Daviess County was able to rattle off 20 shots on the night, with nine of them on goal. Senior Parker Jones was able to save five of them while sophomore Ben Dawson grabbed one, with senior Ahmed Abdullahi sinking the third goal of the day for the Panthers on an assist from senior Sean Higgs to put the finishing touches on a 3-1 victory.

Daviess County now sits at 7-1 overall and 4-0 in district play with the win, now taking a day off before competing in the Purples Classic on Saturday. Owensboro Catholic on the other hand sits at 4-3-3 overall and 1-3 in district play, looking to bounce on Saturday with a road contest against Grayson County at 10 a.m.
