South Warren’s offense too much for Lady Aces

Owensboro Catholic volleyball had its two-game winning streak ended on Monday, as they fell in a road matchup with South Warren 3-2 (25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 8-25, 13-15).

The Lady Aces tried to do everything they could defensively to grab a win, with three players in double figures with digs. Senior Emily Christian led the way with 23, while junior Blair Riney recorded 22 and junior Karson Tipmore had 16.

Sophomore Olivia Castlen led the way in kills with 13, with Riney and sophomore Tyranada Stuart following closely with 12 and 11 respectively. Junior Kennedy Murphy helped set her teammates up all night, dishing out 40 assists.

Owensboro Catholic falls to 4-6 overall with the loss, as they have a quick turnaround with a district matchup against Owensboro at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
