The Lady Panthers were unable to muster up enough offense on Tuesday night, as their season came to a close in the Girls Soccer 3rd Region Semifinals with a 2-0 loss to Ohio County.
It was a stalemate for the first 30 minutes of the match at Apollo, with the Lady Eagles being the first to find the back of the net. It was junior Emily Goff who put Ohio County on the board, scoring in the 32nd minute to make it 1-0 going into halftime.
Daviess County gave up another in the 49th minute, as the Lady Eagles drew a foul to earn a penalty kick. Senior Skylar Gray was able to put it away, building their lead to 2-0.
The Lady Panthers were never able to find the back of the net in the remainder of the game, ultimately resulting in falling to Ohio County in the 3rd Region Tournament for the second straight season. Daviess County closes out the season sitting at 12-8 overall to complete a solid jump forward for a team that will lose three seniors, but has many returning players to continue its steady improvement into the 2023 campaign.
