The Lady Aces secured their spot in the 3rd Region Championship on Wednesday, sweeping Meade County 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-21) on the road.
Owensboro Catholic used a balanced offensive attack to get the job done Wednesday night, with junior Blair Riney’s nine kills and sophomore Tyranda Stuart’s seven leading the way. Seven different players recorded a kill, while junior Kennedy Murphy tallied 32 assists on the day.
It was a team effort defensively as well, with four different players finishing in double figures in digs. Senior Emily Christian led the way with 20, while junior Karsen Tipmore followed with 15, junior Isabelle Reisz had 13 and Riney had 12.
The Lady Aces now turn their attention to the 3rd Region Championship on Thursday, taking on Ohio County as they look to grab some hardware for the first time since 2019 at 7 p.m.
