The Lady Raiders volleyball team was dialed in on Tuesday, setting themselves up for another big postseason run by sweeping Edmonson County 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-20) to grab their second straight 12th District Championship.
Junior Hannah Nash led Trinity (Whitesville) offensively with 13 kills, while junior Georgia Howard followed close behind with eight kills. Senior Josie Aull set up the offense with 27 assists, while Nash (4), Howard (3) and sophomore Kenzie McDowell (3) chipped in 10 of the team’s 12 serving aces.
Defensively it was sophomore Caroline Hall who led the way with 11 digs, while senior Abby Payne followed close behind with six digs to combine for 19 of the team’s 29.
Trinity, now riding a two-game winning streak and owning back-to-back 12th District Championships, will await for the 3rd Region draw to see who they will take on to continue their postseason run.
