Owensboro Catholic’s strong season comes to a close against Assumption

The Lady Aces had its season come to a close in the first round of state on Monday, as they were unable to stifle Assumption in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-8, 25-13) loss.

Owensboro Catholic struggled on the day offensively, recording 17 kills as a team with sophomore Olivia Castlen’s nine leading the way. Sophomore Kennedy Murphy assisted on 16 of them, while senior Emily Christian had 10 of the team’s 22 digs and sophomore Jaiden Grant had the only two blocks for the Lady Aces.

Owensboro Catholic finishes the 2022 campaign sitting at 20-10 overall, having won a District Championship and a 3rd Region Championship for the first time since 2019.
