The Lady Aces were clicking on all cylinders in the first round of the 3rd Region All A Classic on Tuesday, defeating Trinity (Whitesville) on the road 62-30.
Owensboro Catholic was able to stifle the Lady Raiders defensively right out of the gates, limiting them to single digits to take a 13-4 lead following the first quarter. Trinity’s luck didn’t get much better in the second as senior Josie Aull hit their lone basket of the quarter from deep, while the Lady Aces hit four threes to grow their lead to 31-11.
Senior Josie Aull was able to get going and grab 16 points in the second half—leading the Lady Raiders on the night with 19—but it was too little too late as Owensboro Catholic went on to wrap up a 62-30 win in the 3rd Region All A Classic.
Junior Hailee Johnson and sophomore Karmin Riley led the Lady Aces on the night, finishing with 15 and 11 points respectively. Owensboro Catholic sits 7-0 to start the season with the win, as they’ll look to continue their winning ways in a district matchup with Daviess County at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Trinity on the other hand falls to 0-7 to start the season and will look to get in the winning column on Saturday, as they host Oldham County at noon.
