The E-gals and Lady Panthers couldn’t sustain any offensive success in its respective matchups on Tuesday, falling to Henderson County and Muhlenberg County.
Apollo vs. Henderson County
The E-gals were stifled by Henderson County in the second half on Tuesday, as their offensive woes led to a 76-36 loss on the road.
Apollo got off to a solid start offensively in the first half, getting 11 points from freshman Kennedy Lane. However, they weren’t able to slow down the Lady Colonels on the defensive end, heading into overtime trailing 38-25.
The E-gals didn’t have any better luck in the second half, being limited to six points in the third and five in the fourth as they proceeded to fall to Henderson County 76-36. Lane was the only player to score more than eight points for Apollo, finishing with a team-leading 18—including seven of their 11 in the second half.
The E-gals fall to 4-11 overall with the loss, as they’ll look to bounce back on the road against McLean County at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Daviess County vs. Muhlenberg County
The Lady Panthers weren’t able to slow Muhlenberg County down in the second half on Tuesday, as they ultimately fell 57-44 at home.
Daviess County got off to a strong start, getting a combined 10 points from freshman Briley Henry (six) and sophomore Zoey Beehn (four) en route to a 14-12 lead going into the second. The Lady Panthers were held to single digits in the following quarter, but were able to limit Muhlenberg County to seven themselves to keep things knotted up at 19 going into halftime.
But in the second half Daviess County didn’t have an answer for the Lady Mustangs defensively, as they went off for 38 points. Senior Adylan Ayer tallied 17 of her 19 points in the second half for the Lady Panthers, but it wasn’t enough as they were outscored by 13 en route to the 57-44 loss.
Ayer was the only player to score in double figures for Daviess County, as they fell to 4-9. The Lady Panthers will look to bounce back on the road on Friday against Henderson County at 5:30 p.m.
