The Lady Devils, E-gals and Lady Panthers were on fire offensively on Saturday, as they all came out with strong road wins in their respective matchups.
Owensboro vs Caldwell County
The Lady Devils were clicking on all cylinders on the road Saturday, dominating both ends of the floor en route to a 76-33 win.
Caldwell County struggled to find a rhythm offensively throughout the contest, as Owensboro was able to hold them to 10 points or less in every single quarter. Meanwhile, the Lady Devils had 10 players score on the night, helping them earn a 76-33 win.
Seniors Lindsey Gibson and K’Asia Palmer led the way on the day, finishing with 16 and 12 points respectively. Owensboro improves to 11-5 overall with the win, as they will now turn their attention to a third region opponent in Trinity (Whitesville) on the road at 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9.
Apollo vs McLean County
A monster second half offensively led the E-gals to victory on Saturday, stifling McLean County in a 63-45 win.
Apollo got off to a decent start in the first half, drilling four threes en route to a 23-18 lead at halftime. Freshman Kennedy Lane (15) and junior Jennifer Lee (13) took over in the second half, combining for 28 of the team’s 40 to secure the 63-45 win.
Lane finished with 20, while Lee had 19 and sophomore Gizelle Whitlock added 12 in the first half alone. The E-gals improve to 5-11 by snapping its three-game losing streak, now looking to continue some winning ways against Barren County at 6 p.m. on Monday.
Daviess County vs Lyon County
A strong first half, paired with a monster game from senior Adylan Ayer led the Lady Panthers to a dominant 53-32 home win over Lyon County on Saturday.
The Lady Lyons struggled mightily on the offensive end in the first half, as Daviess County held to them single digits in both quarters. Ayer proceeded to add 15 points herself, helping the Lady Panthers take a 24-7 lead at halftime.
Lyon County didn’t have much better luck in the second half, while Ayer tallied 15 points to lead Daviess County to the 53-32 win. Ayer’s 30 points led all scorers, while sophomore Zoey Beehn and senior Madison Spurrier added eight each.
The Lady Panthers improve to 5-10 overall after snapping their three-game losing streak, as they’ll look to make it two straight when they take on Hopkinsville at home on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
