Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Mark Shook reflects on his time helping at the NCA A DII World Series in Cary, North Carolina. Shook, who is one of just eight athletic directors on the NCAA DII Baseball Committee, will assist at the DII World Series until his appointment ends in August of 2026.

Shook, who represents the Midwest Region, stated that “Being a NCAA DII national college baseball committee member has been a professional ‘bucket list’ goal for me during my 20+ year career in college

athletics. Being able to serve on this committee with other ADs and head coaches from across the country and to help find the strongest teams in our Midwest region, but also in the country, is a humbling experience. I’ve learned so much this year. Cary, North Carolina, has a first class facility in the USA   baseball national training center. The field work they do here has to be better than 95% of the amateur baseball fields in the country. The 12-hour days helping run this championship are so worth it to see this high level of college baseball. I hope our guys are fortunate enough to play here someday soon.”

Shook assisted in the organization, setup, and takedown of the World Series, which started on Saturday, June 3rd, and finished on Saturday, June 10th, with Angelo State taking home the title.
