Panthers Earn High Honors

For the first time in program history the Kentucky Wesleyan College women’s golf program has received national recognition from the Women’s Golf Coaches Association with the 2022-23 WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award. The award recognizes the top-25 women’s collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team GPA which includes all the team’s student-athletes for the 2022-23 season. 
 
The Panthers claimed the 25th spot in annual Division II standings, marking their first appearance in the top-25 in program history. Leading Division II was St. Mary’s University (TX), as the team’s eight members averaged a 3.925 GPA. 
 
The Panthers held one of their highest Team GPAs in recent years, finishing the season with a 3.586 GPA. Wesleyan was one of three members of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference to finish in the national top-25. This season three players finished the academic year with a 3.94 GPA or higher. Leading the team was Audrey Koetter with a 4.0 GPA, which also earned her Kentucky Wesleyan President’s List distinction. Megan Bryan, Makenna O’Bryan, Maddie Zimmerman, and Avery Shacklette all were members of the Wesleyan Dean’s List this season. 
 
The WGCA also announced the top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for Division I, Division II and Division III, as well as the top 10 teams for NAIA. To see the full list, please click here.
