Volleyball recap (Aug. 29): AHS, OHS, OCHS, DCHS, THS

Apollo and Owensboro both picked up district wins while Trinity won in their away game against Hancock County. 

AHS 3, OHS 1

The E-gals bested the Lady Red Devils 3-1 (25-8, 25-23, 20-25, 25-22) in a district matchup. 

Leading AHS scoring was Ava Fazio with 13 kills and seven blocks. The defense was led by Kelsey Dickinson who had 19 digs and an ace. Ahalia Ramirez set up the offense with 31 assists, one block and four digs. 

The Lady Red Devils were led in scoring and on defense by Chase Mather who had 13 kills, 18 digs and one assist. Ava Fincher led the team in assists with 18 as well as five kills and 10 digs.

OCHS 3, DCHS 0

The Lady Aces won 3-0 (25-7, 25-19, 25-18) in their district match against the Lady Panthers. 

Leading OCHS in scoring was Olivia Castlen who had 13 kills, two aces and four digs. The defense was led by Karsen Tipmore who had 14 digs and an ace. Kennedy Murphy set up the offense with 32 assists, two kills and eight digs. 

Lauren Jean led the Lady Panthers in scoring with six kills, one ace and 11 digs. Kayla Jones led the team in assists with 12 and had two aces, four blocks and one dig as well.

THS 3, Hancock County 0

The Lady Raiders once again secured a win in a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-15) victory over Hancock County.

Georgia Howard led the teams’ scoring with eight kills, two aces and four digs. Kenzie McDowell led the team in assists with 24 and had four kills, two aces and three digs as well. Caroline led the teams’ defense with eight digs and two aces.
