Boys’ golf recap (Sept. 7): city-county tournament

Owensboro lifted the trophy at this year’s local city-county tournament at Ben Hawes Golf Course. The Red Devils also had their own Will Hume place first overall individually. 

OHS- 322

The Red Devils placed first overall with a score of 322. Hume placed first overall individually with a score of 75. He was followed by teammate Cole Crews who shot for 80. Walker Gaddis shot for 82, and Will Rickard shot for 85 for the Devils as well. 

DCHS- 338

The Panthers placed second overall with a score of 338. Leading the team was Grant Boughton who shot for 76 and placed second overall in individual scoring. Also competing for DCHS was Logan Mewes and Bransen Berry who both shot for 87, and Will Kemplin who shot for 88.

OCHS- 342

The Aces placed third overall with a score of 342. Luke Estes led the team and shot for 81. Houston Danzer had the next best score with 83. Hayden Crabtree and Tanner McFadden shot for 86 and 92 respectively. 

AHS- 352

The Eagles placed fourth overall with a score of 352. Leading the team was Trevor Cecil who shot for 79 and placed third overall in individual scores. Lane Skinner shot the second best on the team with a score of 90. He was followed by teammates Ethan Clements who shot for 91 and Carter Kimmel who shot for 92.
