Volleyball recap (Aug. 31): AHS, DCHS, OHS, OCHS, THS

All five local schools picked up wins today with stellar performances. 

AHS 3, South Warren 1

The E-gals won their game 3-1 (28-26, 25-9, 15-25, 25-11)on the road against South Warren. 

Ahalia Ramirez was the focal point of the offense as she had 34 assists, three kills, four blocks and five digs. Abie Butterworth led the team in scoring as she had 17 points overall in the form of 12 kills and five aces, as well as having six blocks on defense. 

DCHS 3, Grayson 2

The Lady Panthers won the first two sets of the match, but were then pushed to a fifth set by Grayson. DCHS came out on top however, as they dominated the final set to win 3-2 (25-15, 25-23, 17-25, 12-25, 15-8) overall.

Kayla Jones set up the offense with 24 assists, and on defense she had five blocks and nine digs. Lauren Jean led the team in scoring with 15 kills, and she had 7 digs on defense. 

OHS 3, Madisonville 0

The Lady Red Devils had a comfortable 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-11) win at home against Madisonville. 

Ava Fincher orchestrated the team’s offense with 17 assists, seven kills, five aces and five digs. Kiersten Taylor led the scoring with 9 kills, two aces, one assist, and eight digs.

OCHS 3, Ohio 0

The Lady Aces had the second sweep of the night with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-16) win over Ohio County.

Tyranda Stuart led the team in scoring with 15 kills and two blocks on defense. The offense ran through Kennedy Murphy as she had 29 assists, one kill, four aces, and five digs on defense. 

THS 3, Breckinridge 0

The Lady Raiders continue their impressive season with another 3-0 win over Breckinridge. 

Kenzie McDowell had a 25-assist performance to help kickstart attacks on offense. She also had three kills, four aces and 10 digs. Hannah Nash led the team in scoring with 18 kills, two aces and nine digs on defense.
