Daviess County secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Hancock County, while Owensboro suffered a close 2-3 defeat to Warren East.
OHS 2, Warren East 3
Owensboro started off strong against Warren East winning the first two sets ((25-21, 27-25), but Warren East won the next two (14-25, 18-25)to force a fifth set. DCHS narrowly lost the final set (15-17) sealing the defeat.
Leading the Lady Red Devils in scoring was Addie Travis with 18 kills, two aces, one assist, seven blocks and six digs. Ava Fincher led in assists with 33 along with five kills, two aces, three blocks and seven digs. Rose Larsen led the team on defense with 16 digs.
DCHS 3, Hancock 0
The Lady Panthers had no trouble getting the 3-0 (25-13, 25-10, 25-7) win over Hancock.
Maya Pollard and Lauren Jean led the team’s scoring with seven and six kills respectively and four digs on defense each. Kayla Jones led the team in assists with 13 along with one kill, two aces, two blocks and four digs.
